Welcome to the Hamburger Winterdom 2026 in Hamburg
The Hamburger Winterdom 2026 takes place from 6 November to 6 December on Heiligengeistfeld in Hamburg-St. Pauli. As the winter edition of the Hamburger DOM, it is Northern Germany’s largest folk festival, combining rides, showman stalls, mulled wine and festive lighting with the run-up to Christmas. Admission to the grounds is free.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026
The Hamburger Winterdom 2026 runs continuously from 6 November to 6 December. Opening hours are generally Monday to Thursday 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday 3:00 p.m. to midnight, and Sunday 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Hours may differ on memorial Sundays such as Volkstrauertag and Totensonntag; check hamburg.de for updates. Wednesday is Family Day with discounted prices. Friday fireworks at 10:30 p.m. are a regular highlight when weather allows.
The detailed 2026 ride line-up is usually published shortly before opening. Expect a large Ferris wheel, roller coasters, children’s carousels, games and extensive food stalls. Alongside the Winterdom, Hamburg also hosts traditional Christmas markets, including Rathausmarkt, Jungfernstieg and Speicherstadt. The Winterdom itself is a winter folk festival with a festive atmosphere rather than a classic Christmas market.

Admission to the Hamburger Winterdom 2026 is free. No tickets are required to enter the grounds. Costs apply only for rides, games and food: rides typically range from about 4 to 12.50 euros, food and drinks often around 5 to 10 euros. Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Hamburg
- Use public transport: U-Bahn line U3 or bus to Feldstraße; parking around Heiligengeistfeld is very limited
- Wear warm, weatherproof clothing and sturdy shoes – the Winterdom is entirely outdoors
- Book hotels in St. Pauli, Neustadt or near the exhibition halls early, especially on November and December weekends
- Dogs are not permitted on the DOM, except guide and service dogs
- Weekdays and Family Day are calmer; evenings offer the strongest lights and atmosphere
