Welcome to the Hameln Christmas Market 2026 in Hameln
The Hameln Christmas Market transforms the historic old town of Hameln into a magical winter wonderland from 23 November to 30 December 2026. Set against the backdrop of magnificent Weser Renaissance buildings and half-timbered houses, visitors can enjoy around 60 lovingly decorated wooden stalls, mulled wine, crafts and fairytale attractions. Admission is free.

Hamelner Weihnachtsmarkt 2026
The classic Hameln Christmas Market forms the heart of the pre-Christmas season in the Pied Piper city. It stretches around the Hochzeitshaus, the Market Church, Lüttgen Markt and Osterstraße. The historic Weser Renaissance architecture creates a unique setting. Opening hours: Monday to Thursday 10 a.m.–8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m.–10 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m.–8 p.m. The market is closed on 24, 25 and 26 December.
Fairytale Christmas World in Hameln 2026
The fairytale atmosphere is an integral part of the Hameln Christmas Market. Fairytale decorations, living characters such as winter elves, the Snow King and the Ice Queen, together with the magical light installations and the Wish Amplifier, turn the old town into a true Christmas world. The strong connection to the Pied Piper legend and the half-timbered alleys enhance the fairytale character. Both the traditional market and the fairytale design run in parallel from 23 November to 30 December 2026.

The market offers a varied daily programme. Santa Claus visits the Pied Piper city on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The carillon and figure play at the Hochzeitshaus can be heard several times a day. Guided tours through the Christmas old town, readings and special activities for children complete the offer. The combination of crafts, food, rides and the unique historic backdrop makes a visit a special experience for the whole family.
