Visitor Tips: Travel and Accommodation in Heidelberg
- Karlsplatz sits right in the pedestrian old town and is best reached on foot or by public transport
- Parking in the old town is limited, so using a parking garage on the edge of the center followed by a short walk is recommended
- Evenings in early October can already be cool, so a warmer jacket is a good idea
- Since Heidelberg draws large crowds in autumn, accommodation should be booked well ahead
- An early evening visit combines pleasant temperatures with the beautifully lit pavilions
