Welcome to the Hellbrunner Adventzauber 2026 in Salzburg
From November 19 to December 24, 2026, the courtyard of Schloss Hellbrunn just outside Salzburg turns into an atmospheric Advent market. For more than twenty years, the Hellbrunner Adventzauber has been considered one of the most romantic Christmas markets in the region, combining a baroque palace backdrop, a sprawling forest of decorated fir trees and an extensive children's program in a way quite different from the markets in Salzburg's Old Town.

Program and Schedule: What to Expect in Salzburg
The Hellbrunner Adventzauber is open Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays already from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. On December 24 the market closes early, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM only, and it stays closed on Mondays. The supporting program includes parlor music in the Orangerie, weekend live music on stage and selected Krampus run dates, all regularly updated on the official website.
Tickets and Admission for the Hellbrunner Adventzauber 2026
Admission from Tuesday to Sunday until 7:00 PM costs 8.00 euros per person, which includes a voucher for one hot drink. From 7:00 PM onward, entry is free, as it is all day on December 24. Other Christmas Markets in Salzburg
Salzburger Christkindlmarkt at Domplatz and Residenzplatz
The city's largest and best known Christmas market sits in the middle of Salzburg's Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, spreading from Residenzplatz across the cathedral arches to Domplatz. Around 90 to 100 stalls sell handicrafts, mulled wine and regional specialties in front of Salzburg Cathedral. For 2026, the market is announced to run from November 19 to January 1, 2027, with an extensive supporting program of tower brass music, choir performances and traditional Krampus and Perchten parades.
Mirabellplatz Christkindlmarkt
Right in front of Mirabell Palace in the city center sits the smallest and coziest of Salzburg's Christmas markets. It attracts more locals than international visitors and is a convenient stop for anyone walking from the train station into the Old Town. For 2026, the market is listed as running from November 19 to December 31.
Advent Market at Hohensalzburg Fortress
High above the city, a smaller Advent market opens on selected days in the courtyard of Hohensalzburg Fortress, known for tarte flambée baked in centuries old ovens and sweeping views over Salzburg's Old Town. For 2026 the market is listed as running Friday to Sunday between November 27 and December 20, with a few additional single day openings; visitors should check the fortress's official page for confirmed dates before planning a visit.
