Welcome to the HERBSTGOLD Festival 2026
From 16 to 26 September 2026, the baroque Esterházy Palace in Eisenstadt, once the workplace of composer Joseph Haydn, once again becomes a stage for international music. Under the artistic direction of violinist and conductor Julian Rachlin, the HERBSTGOLD Festival brings together classical music, jazz and Balkan and Roma sounds, complemented by culinary experiences centered on Burgenland wine in the palace park and the historic Orangery.

Program
Renowned artists such as Rolando Villazón, Pablo Ferrández, Gabriela Montero and Ian Bostridge perform in the palace's magnificent Haydnsaal and at additional venues. The musical range spans Haydn's cheerful classicism, Brahms's romanticism and Mozart's Requiem, alongside dedicated evenings of jazz and Balkan and Roma world music. Most concerts start at 7:30 PM, with a few matinee performances in the morning. Alongside the concerts, the Pan O'Gusto culinary festival invites visitors to sample Pannonian cuisine and Burgenland wines in the historic Orangery.
Tickets
Tickets are available through the festival website, the pan.event ticket office at Esterházyplatz and via Ö-Ticket. Prices start at around 39 euros and vary by concert and seating category; top concerts in premium categories can cost considerably more. Visitors under 27 pay a flat rate of 15 euros, and seniors aged 65 and over receive a 15 percent discount.
Visitor Tips
- Book tickets early, as popular concerts in the Haydnsaal sell out quickly.
- A combined ticket with dinner at Restaurant Henrici or at Pan O'Gusto makes for a full evening out.
- Eisenstadt is about an hour from Vienna by train.
- Bring a light jacket for cool autumn evenings in the palace park.
- Parking is available within walking distance around the palace park.
