Welcome to the Herzberg Festival 2027 in Breitenbach am Herzberg
The Herzberg Festival is one of Europe’s oldest and largest open-air hippie festivals and takes place from 29 July to 1 August 2027 at the foot of Burg Herzberg in Breitenbach am Herzberg. Under the motto “Back to the Future” visitors can expect a unique mix of krautrock, folk, psychedelic, blues and world music in a natural setting. Since 1968 the festival has shaped alternative festival culture with a strong community spirit, workshops and camping.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027
The festival runs from Thursday 29 July to Sunday 1 August 2027. Arrival is usually possible earlier. Multiple stages (Mainstage, Freakstage, reading tent and others) host continuous live music, readings, theatre and workshops. During the day there is yoga, instrument building, kids’ raves and interactive sessions; in the evenings headliners and numerous acts from the krautrock and alternative scenes take the stages. Tickets & Admission for Herzberg Festival Breitenbach am Herzberg
Festival tickets start at around 190 Euro (plus fees, current end price approx. 209 Euro) in pre-sale. Weekend and Sunday tickets are also available. Children and young people up to and including 14 years enter free when accompanied. Tickets can be bought via the official online shop, Reservix and advance booking offices. Camping is included or available on site; additional vehicle fees apply.
Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Breitenbach am Herzberg
- Arrive by car via the A5 or A7 (exits Alsfeld/Ost or Niederaula); public transport with special bus from Alsfeld to Hof Huhnstadt stop
- Bring sturdy shoes and weatherproof clothing – the festival takes place in nature
- Plan camping on site or at Silbersee early; book regional accommodation in advance
- Glass bottles and cans are not allowed on the festival meadow; awareness and security teams are present
- Observe forest fire risk levels and open fire only according to festival management instructions
