Welcome to the Hohenems Christmas Magic with Wichtelwald 2026 in Hohenems
The Hohenems Christmas Magic with Wichtelwald takes place from 21 November to 28 December 2026 on Kirchplatz as well as the neighbouring Salomon-Sulzer-Platz and Loretto-Platz. The traditional light switch-on ceremony on 20 November at Schlossplatz officially opens the Advent season. Daily from 16:00 to 19:30 the town centre transforms into a magical gnome world with light displays, adventure stations and a festive atmosphere for the whole family.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026
The Advent season in Hohenems begins with the light switch-on ceremony on Friday, 20 November 2026, from 17:00 at Schlossplatz. At 18:00 the Christmas tree lights are officially switched on. At the same time the Wichtelwald comes to life. Daily from 16:00 to 19:30 visitors can explore the stations. The punch and snack huts are open Thursday to Saturday until 22:00 and on Sundays from 14:00 to 21:00 (exact times may vary slightly). The Wichtelwald invites families to a relaxed evening with stories, forest games and discovery trails. Complementary offers include themed guided tours and the Christmas lane with extended shop opening hours.
