Welcome to the Homburg Christmas Village 2026 in Homburg
From December 6 to 30, 2026, Christian Weber Square in the center of Homburg once again turns into a beautifully lit Christmas village. For three weeks, around 30 charmingly decorated wooden huts, a large ice rink and a daily stage program invite visitors to linger, in a city also known for its Schlossberg caves and historic old town.

Program and Schedule: What to Expect in Homburg
The Christmas village is open Monday to Wednesday from 11 am to 9 pm, Thursday to Saturday from 11 am to 10 pm and Sunday from noon to 8 pm. On Christmas Eve it opens from 10 am to 2 pm, while it stays closed on December 25 and 26. Alongside the regular stage program, the ice rink is a particular highlight for families with children, and the rows of huts around the square make for a pleasant evening stroll.

Entry to the Christmas village on Christian Weber Square is completely free. Only individual offerings on site, such as using the ice rink or buying food and drinks, come with the usual prices charged by each vendor. No ticket is needed simply to visit.

More Christmas Markets in Homburg's Districts
Besides the large Christmas village on Christian Weber Square, several of Homburg's districts run their own smaller Christmas and Advent markets. These are often more intimate events organized by local clubs, district councils and institutions. The following markets are traditionally part of Homburg's Advent season; exact 2026 dates had not yet been finalized by the organizers at the time of research and are based on previous years' patterns.
Homburg Nikolausmarkt at the Historic Market Square
Run by the Homburg Kulturgesellschaft, this long standing Nikolausmarkt takes place on the Historic Market Square and counts among the city's oldest Advent markets. It typically runs for about two weeks, usually from late November into the first week of December, with a daily stage program, an elaborate light or drone show and daily visits from Saint Nicholas and his helpers. Exact 2026 dates are not yet confirmed; for reference, the 2025 edition ran from November 21 to December 7.
Christmas Market in Erbach
On Luitpoldplatz in the Erbach district, the local clubs association together with the district council organizes a small, cozy Christmas market. It traditionally takes place over one weekend in early December, offering a compact, family style selection of stalls with mulled wine, baked goods and handicrafts.
Christmas Market in Einöd
The Christmas market in Einöd has its fixed home on the village square by the former mayor's office and has existed since the 1980s. It is organized by the local district head and the Einöd community association, usually held over a weekend around the second Sunday of Advent.
Christmas Market in Beeden
In the Beeden district, the Christmas market takes place on the grounds in front of the Hasenheim near the new school building. Organized by the Beeden district council, it is a small, locally rooted event with stalls run by community groups and a relaxed Advent program for the neighborhood.
Christmas Market at Gustavsburg in Jägersburg
In the Jägersburg district, the courtyard of Gustavsburg Castle provides a particularly atmospheric setting. The Christmas market here combines the historic grounds with classic stalls for mulled wine, crafts and festive treats, and usually takes place over one weekend in December.
Christmas Market in Kirrberg
The Christmas market in Kirrberg is held in the schoolyard of the local primary school. Schools, kindergartens and community groups from the district take part with stalls and a small supporting program, making it especially popular with families.
