Event Details

When and where does Ilosaarirock 2027 take place?

Ilosaarirock is one of the oldest rock festivals in Europe and takes place from 16 to 18 July 2027 at Laulurinne, a scenic lakeside area surrounded by forest on the edge of Joensuu in Eastern Finland, just a short walk from the city centre. Founded in 1971, it remains one of the country's largest music events.

What makes Ilosaarirock a unique festival?

Ilosaarirock is organized entirely by volunteers, with more than 1,500 people helping to run the event each year. The festival is also known as a pioneer in ecological event management, focusing on waste sorting, sustainable energy and local catering. It is run by the nonprofit association Joensuun Popmuusikot ry, whose proceeds support the music scene of Eastern Finland.
