What is the Inferno Metal Festival in Oslo?

Since 2001, the Inferno Metal Festival has been the world's leading gathering for black metal and extreme metal fans. Every year around Easter, Oslo, often called the capital of black metal, turns into a four day hub of concerts, club shows and fan events. More than sixty percent of tickets are sold abroad, drawing fans from over fifty countries to experience the genre at its birthplace.

When is Inferno 2027?

Inferno Metal Festival 2027 runs from Thursday, 25 March, to Sunday, 28 March 2027 (Easter week). Doors on the main evenings typically open around 3:00 PM, with concerts running well past midnight.

Where is the festival held? (Venue in Oslo)

The main venue is Rockefeller Music Hall at Torggata 16 in central Oslo, together with the smaller John Dee stage in the same building. The 4 day pass also includes daytime concerts at several club stages around the city, including Vaterland and Kniven, both just a short walk from Rockefeller.

How much do tickets for Inferno 2027 cost?

The 4 day festival pass was sold in two phases: an Early Bird pass at 3495 NOK and a regular pass at 3995 NOK. Both are currently marked as sold out on the official website; day tickets are expected to go on sale separately once available. The official festival hotel, Clarion Hotel The Hub, offers rooms from 1355 NOK per night from 21 to 29 March 2027.

How do you get to Inferno Metal Festival in Oslo?

Rockefeller sits in central Oslo, just a short walk from Oslo Central Station, and is easy to reach by bus, train or metro. Oslo Gardermoen Airport is connected to downtown by the Flytoget express train in about 20 minutes.

Program and side events

Beyond the concerts, the festival features movie screenings, art exhibitions, tattoo artists, beer tastings, a sauna and guided tours around Oslo. The Inferno Music Conference runs alongside the festival, bringing together metal industry professionals for panels and networking. The 2027 lineup has not been announced yet.
