Welcome to the Innsbruck Christmas Market 2026 in Innsbruck

The Mountain Christmas in Innsbruck transforms the Tyrolean capital into a festive sea of lights from 13 November to 23 December 2026. The traditional Christkindlmarkt in the Old Town in front of the Golden Roof forms the centrepiece and invites visitors daily from 11:00 to 21:00. With views of the snow-capped Nordkette and the medieval lanes, a unique alpine Advent atmosphere is created.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026

The Old Town Christkindlmarkt runs from 13 November to 23 December 2026 daily from 11:00 to 21:00 (stalls until 20:00). Daily fairy-tale performances take place at 16:30 and 17:30, and the tower brass ensemble plays from the Golden Roof at 17:30. Marktplatz offers an extensive children’s programme with puppet theatre and story time. Culinary highlights include Tyrolean Kiachl, mulled wine, sausages and regional specialities.

Christkindlmarkt Maria-Theresien-Straße

From 25 November 2026 to 6 January 2027 the modern market on the main boulevard is open daily from 11:00 to 21:00. With sparkling illuminated trees, international offerings and views of the Nordkette, it remains the only market open after Christmas (shortened hours on 24 Dec, until 19:00 on 31 Dec).

Christkindlmarkt Marktplatz

From 13 November to 23 December 2026 daily 11:00–21:00 by the Inn. The most family-friendly market with carousel, virtual coach experience, puppet theatre and the unique Swarovski crystal tree.

Christkindlmarkt Hungerburg

From 20 November 2026 to 6 January 2027 at 884 m elevation. Mon–Fri 13:00–19:00, Sat/Sun and public holidays 12:00–19:00 (shortened from 25 Dec). Reachable in eight minutes by Hungerburgbahn – spectacular panoramic views included.

Christkindlmarkt St. Nikolaus

From 20 November to 23 December 2026 daily 16:00–21:00 at Hans-Brenner-Platz. Quiet, traditional neighbourhood market across the Inn with authentic atmosphere.

Wiltener Weihnachtszauber

From 20 November to 23 December 2026 daily 16:00–20:00 at Wiltener Platzl. Small, alternative market with crafts, culture and international specialities.

Tickets & Admission for Innsbruck Christmas Market Innsbruck

Admission to all Christkindlmärkte of the Mountain Christmas Innsbruck is free of charge. Costs only arise for food, drinks and optional activities. Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Innsbruck

  • Arrive by train to Innsbruck main station; the Old Town and markets are easily reachable on foot or by public transport. The Hungerburgbahn starts at the Congress station.
  • Bring warm, weatherproof clothing and sturdy shoes – it can be cold and slippery in the mountains and in the evenings.
  • Book accommodation in the Old Town or by the river early, as the Advent season in Innsbruck is very popular.
  • Use the “Walk to Explore” route to connect all seven markets in one day (approx. 7 km).
  • Best visit on weekdays or early afternoon to avoid crowds and enjoy the tower brass performances in peace.
