Welcome to the Isarinselfest 2027 in Munich
The Isarinselfest is one of Munich’s largest free open-air culture and music festivals and is expected to take place in early September 2027 on Praterinsel in the Isar River. On the historic island with courtyard, orangery, root cellar, basketball court and Prater beach, visitors can enjoy live music, DJ sets, cabaret, walking acts and a varied family programme. Admission is completely free.

The Isarinselfest runs over three days and offers a varied programme on several stages and areas of Praterinsel. Typically Friday starts in the late afternoon with the opening and first concerts, Saturday runs all day with a full line-up, and Sunday ends earlier with family-friendly offers. In addition to the main stages there are Latino and family areas, walking acts and interactive stations. Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Munich
- Best reached by public transport (S-Bahn Isartor or tram towards Deutsches Museum / Maxmonument); the island is easily accessible on foot. Parking is very limited.
- Bring light to warm clothing for the day and a jacket for the evening – it can become cool and windy by the Isar after sunset.
- Book accommodation in the Old Town, Lehel or Haidhausen early, as the festival and general demand in Munich are high.
- Bicycle parking is available near the Praterwehrbrücke; the venue is largely accessible.
- Check the programme in advance and arrive early in good weather to enjoy the most popular stages and the Prater beach.
