Program and Schedule: What to Expect in Vienna

The three festival tents are open from Wednesday to Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to midnight, with slightly different hours on other days. During the day, admission to the entire festival grounds is free, so families, groups and clubs can enjoy the alpine huts and the Wiesndorf without a ticket. Evening events with live music inside the tents require a ticket, with a program ranging from brass music and Austropop to well known party bands.

Tickets and Admission for Kaiser Wiesn Vienna

Access to the festival grounds and alpine huts is free during the day. Tickets are only needed for the evening events inside the three festival tents, and prices vary by tent, day and live act, starting at around 39 euros. Members of the Vienna Vorteilsclub receive a 25 percent discount on tickets from September 25 to October 12. Tables in the main tent tend to fill up quickly on weekends, so early reservation is recommended.

Visitor Tips: Travel and Accommodation in Vienna

  • The Kaiserwiese sits in the middle of Vienna's Prater, easily reached by U Bahn line U2 to Praterstern followed by a short walk
  • Evenings can already turn cool in late September and October, so a warm jacket is worth bringing along
  • Traditional Austrian dress such as dirndl or lederhosen is very welcome and typical at Kaiser Wiesn, though not required
  • Since Kaiser Wiesn is one of Vienna's busiest event periods, booking accommodation early is a good idea
  • Anyone wanting a fixed table in a tent should reserve online, since walk in seating can be scarce on weekends
