Welcome to the Karpfhamer Fest 2027 in Karpfham
The Karpfhamer Fest is one of the largest folk festivals in Lower Bavaria and attracts nearly half a million visitors each year to Karpfham near Bad Griesbach in the Rottal region. With six large festival tents (traditionally called “Hütten”) and around 19,000 seats, a huge amusement park and the parallel Rottalschau, the festival offers Bavarian hospitality, agriculture and entertainment for the whole family. The date is set so that the main Sunday falls closest to the August/September transition.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027
The Karpfhamer Fest traditionally lasts six days from Thursday to Tuesday. The Rottalschau runs in parallel from Friday to Tuesday. The programme includes the official beer tapping, the procession of the hosts, performances of the Rottaler Zehnerzug, mare shows, riding tournaments, the festival church service, political gatherings and evening live music in the tents. On Tuesday evening the grand fireworks display takes place. Exact opening hours of the individual tents and the detailed daily programme will be published in good time on the official website.
Tickets & Admission for Karpfhamer Fest
Admission to the Karpfhamer Fest and the Rottalschau is free of charge. Fees apply for rides and amusement attractions. Beer and food are purchased in the tents and at the stalls. Beer tokens and food vouchers can be ordered in advance. Current information is available on the organiser’s website.
Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Karpfham
- Numerous parking spaces around the festival grounds; use the regional shuttle buses
- Wear comfortable shoes – the site is extensive and partly on grassy ground
