King's Day Amsterdam 2027 – Koningsdag on 27 April
On Tuesday 27 April 2027, Amsterdam transforms into one of Europe's biggest street parties: Koningsdag, the Dutch national holiday celebrating the birthday of King Willem-Alexander. The celebrations begin the night before with King's Night (Koningsnacht) on 26 April, the biggest club night of the Dutch calendar. Between 700,000 and one million visitors fill the city on King's Day itself. The Vrijmarkt (free market) opens as early as 06:00, the main stage programme starts around 11:00, and most outdoor events wrap up at 20:00. Book accommodation and festival tickets well in advance.

Program & Events
King's Day 2027 in Amsterdam has something for everyone. The Vrijmarkt stretches across the entire city centre, where locals and visitors sell toys, clothes and souvenirs tax-free. The children's Vrijmarkt in Vondelpark starts at 09:00. The main open-air programme kicks off around 11:00. Festival lovers will find the Kingsland Festival at Olympisch Stadion to be the Netherlands' largest single-day music festival, covering Urban, Pop, EDM, Hardstyle and Techno. Free Your Mind x Oranjebloesem at RAI Amsterdam offers electronic music until 22:00. The NDSM-Werf shipyard in Amsterdam North provides a free festival zone with multiple stages, food trucks and art installations. The city's canals fill with decorated boats; joining a boat party is considered the most iconic way to experience Koningsdag.
Tickets & Prices
A large part of King's Day is entirely free: the Vrijmarkt, street parties, the NDSM-Werf and most outdoor stage programmes require no entrance fee. For the Kingsland Festival at Olympisch Stadion, tickets start at around €59.50; for Free Your Mind x Oranjebloesem at RAI Amsterdam from around €56.50. King's Night – the Evening Before
On the evening of 26 April 2027, King's Night (Koningsnacht) marks the start of festivities across Amsterdam. Clubs, bars and outdoor stages open early across the city and throughout the Netherlands. Many visitors dress in orange already the night before. For a more relaxed experience, arriving on 26 April and enjoying King's Night is the ideal way to ease into the celebrations before the main event.

- Arrive on 26 April: trains and streets are packed on King's Day itself, so arriving the day before is strongly recommended.
