Welcome to the Klassik Open Air Nuremberg 2027

Since the year 2000, the Luitpoldhain park has turned into Europe's largest and greenest open air concert hall every summer. At the Klassik Open Air, Nuremberg's two major orchestras, the Staatsphilharmonie Nürnberg and the Nürnberger Symphoniker, perform free of charge for tens of thousands of music lovers who gather on picnic blankets with wine and candles across the park.

Highlights

  • Free admission to every concert
  • Family concert by the Staatsphilharmonie Nürnberg on Sunday morning
  • Grand evening concert by the Staatsphilharmonie Nürnberg on 25 July
  • Evening concert by the Nürnberger Symphoniker on 7 August
  • Picnic atmosphere in the park with wine, cheese and grapes
  • Sparklers and fireworks for a memorable finale
  • One of Europe's largest classical open air concerts, drawing up to 85,000 visitors per evening

Program

On Sunday, 25 July 2027, the Staatsphilharmonie Nürnberg opens the Klassik Open Air with a family concert at 11:00 AM, followed by the main evening concert at 8:00 PM. On Saturday, 7 August 2027, the Nürnberger Symphoniker take the stage in the Luitpoldhain for their own evening concert. Both orchestras cover a wide musical range from opera and operetta to ballet and film music, with a new theme chosen each year. At the close of the evening concert, sparklers brought by the audience traditionally turn the park into a sea of light, accompanied by fireworks.

Tickets

The Klassik Open Air is free and open to everyone; no registration or ticket is required. The event is made possible through donations from individuals and Nuremberg businesses. Visitors who wish to support the festival can donate on site and receive an official pin badge starting from ten euros. Detailed programs and conductors will be published on the official website in spring 2027.
