Kokoroko broke through internationally in 2018 with the understated track “Abusey Junction”. The debut album Could We Be More took the collective to stages and festivals worldwide. The second album Tuff Times Never centres on resilience, warmth and celebration; tracks such as “Sweetie”, “Da Duh Dah” and “Top Gun” feel lighter and more dancefloor-ready, with a nod to British soul bands. Live, the sound stays brass-forward, rhythmic and communal.
