Handicraft stalls are typically open Monday to Wednesday from 13:00–18:00 and Thursday to Sunday from 10:00–18:00 (Saturday from 9:00). The mulled wine and punch stalls of the associations open Monday to Friday from 15:00 (until 21:00), Saturday from 10:00 and Sunday from 14:00. On Advent weekends and special days live music, choirs, the traditional Krampus run and appearances by St. Nicholas or Santa Claus enrich the programme. Exact daily programme details are published continuously on the official website.
Wachau Advent Market in the Dominican Church
On three Advent weekends (expected 27–29 November, 4–6 December and 11–13 December 2026) the Wachau Advent Market takes place inside the historic Dominican Church. Regional exhibitors present handicrafts, design, culinary specialities and gift ideas in a weather-protected and heated setting. Admission is free. The market ideally complements the outdoor Adventzauber in colder weather.
Further Advent offers in Krems and Stein
In addition to the main event there are further markets and activities in Krems and the district of Stein, including offers at the Schlüsselamt as well as Advent events around the House of the Regions. The combination of outdoor stalls, indoor markets and the historic atmosphere of the Old Town creates a varied experience.
