La Strada Bremen – When the City Becomes a Stage
La Strada is the largest international street performance festival in northern Germany, transforming Bremen into a giant open-air stage every summer. The 32nd edition of the festival took place from 11 to 14 June 2026, delighting tens of thousands of visitors across the Marktplatz, Wallanlagen, Goetheplatz, Theaterberg and the Bremer Viertel. Admission to all street performances is completely free of charge. Since its inaugural edition in 1994, the festival has grown to attract up to 100,000 visitors over four days.

- Spectacular opening performance "RoZèO" by French Compagnie Gratte Ciel on Thursday at 9:30 PM on the Marktplatz
- La Strada Gala shows at the Glocke concert hall on Friday and Saturday evenings

Programme & Venues
The festival spreads across the entire Bremen city centre. Main venues include the Marktplatz, the Wallanlagen, Goetheplatz at Theater Bremen, the Theaterberg and the Bremer Viertel, with satellite stages on the Gleimstraße playground and Berliner Platz.
- Thursday, 11 June: Opening ceremony at 9:30 PM on the Marktplatz
- Friday, 12 June: Programme from 5:00 PM; Gala at the Glocke from 8:00 PM
- Saturday, 13 June: Programme from noon including the Bremer Viertel; Gala at 8:00 PM; La Strada tanzt mit LaTurb from 10:00 PM
- Sunday, 14 June: Secret Show at noon; programme until 6:00 PM
Admission & Tickets
All street performances are free to attend with no ticket or registration required. Artists welcome tips placed in the hat after shows. The La Strada Gala shows at the Glocke require a separate ticket. Festival programmes are available for purchase on site.
Visitor Tips
- Bring small coins and notes for the artists' hats; Bremen audiences are known for their generosity.
- Travel by BSAG tram or bus; parking in the city centre is very limited.
- The festival takes place rain or shine, so dress accordingly.
- Arrive early for the most popular shows as crowds gather quickly.
- The programme is suitable for all ages; children are very welcome.
