Event Details

Welcome to the Delphi Festival "Lalon Ydor" 2026

From 28 June to 14 August 2026, the region of Fokida in central Greece turns into an open stage for music, theatre and community gatherings. The Delphi Festival "Lalon Ydor" (roughly "the talking water") takes place for the eighth time in 2026, its name inspired by the rivers and springs of the region, including the Kephisos, which flows as a lifeline through the ancient land of the Delphic Amphictyony. The festival is organized by the municipalities of Delphi and Dorida together with the Region of Sterea Ellada, with support from the Greek Ministry of Culture.

Highlights

  • Eighth edition of the festival, spread across four towns
  • Concerts and theatre in Delphi, Amfissa, Itea and Galaxidi
  • Performances by well known Greek musicians, including Panos Vlachos and Stavros Siolas
  • Local choirs and amateur groups take part in several productions
  • Ancient sites and historic village squares serve as stages
  • Almost all events with free admission

Program

The festival opened on 28 June 2026 with a concert featuring Kostas Thomaidis. Throughout the summer, further concerts, plays and musical evenings follow in the towns and villages of the region, including a performance by Panos Vlachos on 12 July in Amfissa (Kechagia Square) and a tribute to Lavrentis Machairitsas on 3 August in Galaxidi (Chirolaka Square). Theatrical productions such as "The Ghost of Charmaina" and "The Bridge of Arta", featuring local choirs alongside professional singers, are also part of the program. The festival runs until 14 August 2026; most evening events start around 9:00 PM.

Tickets

Most events of the Delphi Festival are free to attend, a note that appears alongside nearly every program listing. Current dates, venues and any changes are published on the official website and the festival's Facebook page.
