Welcome to Berlin's Long Night of Museums 2026

On Saturday, 29 August 2026, a total of 75 Berlin museums open their doors from 6 PM to 2 AM for the 44th Long Night of Museums. With a single ticket, visitors can experience more than 750 events, from the grand halls of Museum Island to small specialty museums. This year's theme is "Crime in Berlin", covering everything from historic criminal cases to cybercrime.

Program

From 6 PM to 2 AM, participating venues offer express tours, workshops, concerts, readings, artist talks, performances and DJ sets. Visitors can start their tour at any participating museum. The Staatliche Museen zu Berlin take part with an extensive program built around the annual theme, as does the German Historical Museum in the Pei Building and many other venues, from the Deutsches Technikmuseum to Charlottenburg Palace. Four shuttle lines connect many museums outside the city center: the red line heads west (from 7 PM), the yellow line north (from 5 PM), and the green and blue lines east and southeast (from 6 PM).

Tickets

Advance sales open on 3 August 2026. From 3 to 16 August, the early bird ticket costs 15 euros (12 euros reduced); from 17 August the price rises to 23 euros (17 euros reduced). Children up to age 12 enter free. Reduced rates apply to students, trainees and people with corresponding proof of eligibility. The ticket grants entry to all participating museums and access to the shuttle buses.

Visitor Tips

• Buy the early bird ticket, as the price rises noticeably after 16 August.
• Start at the Lustgarten on Museum Island, home to the central info point with music and refreshments.
• Shuttle buses and public transport run all night; switching between the four lines is worthwhile for visiting several districts.
• Popular venues like Museum Island and the Humboldt Forum tend to be busiest in the first hours; later visits are often calmer.
• Bring weatherproof clothing, since some routes between museums are outdoors.
