Visitor Tips: Travel and Accommodation in Maribor

  • Maribor is well connected by train from Ljubljana as well as from Vienna and Graz, and the festival area is within walking distance of the station
  • The old town and the riverside are best explored on foot, since many stages sit close together
  • Late June usually brings warm summer weather to Maribor, so light clothing and sun protection are a good idea
  • Since the festival runs for nine days and draws large crowds, accommodation should be booked well in advance
  • A stop at the world's oldest grapevine near the Water Tower offers a quiet contrast to the festival buzz
