Welcome to the Lichtenberger Winterzeit 2026 in Berlin

The Lichtenberger Winterzeit opens from 31 October to 27 December 2026 at Landsberger Allee 300 in Berlin's Lichtenberg district. With around 80 rides and attractions, it is the largest winter market in Berlin. Unlike classic Christmas markets, this is a large winter funfair featuring spectacular rides, lights and a festive atmosphere for the whole family. Visitors can also enjoy culinary treats, mulled wine and a varied programme. Admission is free.

Programme 2026: Key Dates in Berlin

• 31 October: Grand opening with fireworks
• From 3 November: Lichtenberger Winterzeit Challenge; for eight weeks, a new challenge takes place every Tuesday at 6 pm in front of the Ferris wheel, raising support for social institutions in Lichtenberg
• 3 December: Handicap Day; an exclusive morning for around 2,500 people with disabilities and their companions
• 6 December and Advent Sundays: Visits from Santa Claus
• 22 December, 7 pm: Grand finale of the Winterzeit Challenge in front of the Ferris wheel

The Lichtenberger Winterzeit combines a wintery Christmas atmosphere with the excitement of a classic funfair. In addition to the large rides there are stalls offering sweets, savoury specialities and hot drinks. All ride operations end 30 minutes before closing time.

Admission to the Lichtenberger Winterzeit is completely free of charge. Costs only arise for rides, food and drinks. Wednesdays are Family Day with reduced prices on all attractions; ideal for families with children. Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Berlin

• Best reached by public transport: tram lines 16, 27, M6, M8, M17 to Arendsweg or bus 256/N56 to Liebenwalder Str./Landsberger Allee. The market is right at the stop.
• Dress warmly and weatherproof; the open site can be windy and cold. Sturdy shoes are recommended.
• Book accommodation in Lichtenberg, Prenzlauer Berg or Friedrichshain early, as the Advent season in Berlin is in high demand.
• Keep the closing days on 22 November and 24 December in mind when planning your visit.
• On Fridays and Saturdays the market stays open until 11 pm; the light atmosphere is most beautiful in the evening. Allow enough time for the Ferris wheel and several attractions.
