Lido Sounds Festival in Linz Permanently Cancelled

Lido Sounds, which transformed the Urfahrmarkt grounds on the banks of the Danube in Linz into an urban open-air stage for pop, indie, and alternative music since 2023, has come to an end. Following three editions (concluding with the final shows at the end of June 2025), the organizers from Arcadia Live officially announced that the festival has been permanently discontinued. No future editions will take place for 2026, 2027, or beyond.

Retrospective: Highlights of the Linz Riverside Event

  • Unique riverside location providing a distinct urban festival atmosphere
  • High-quality lineups featuring international headliners alongside emerging national talents
  • A diverse multi-genre mix including indie, alternative, pop, and hip-hop
  • A compact city-center concept without camping, utilizing Linz's local public transport
  • Memorable past performances by artists such as Florence + the Machine, Kraftklub, AnnenMayKantereit, and Justice

Reasons for the Discontinuation

Despite strong support from music fans between 2023 and 2025, challenging economic conditions made further editions impossible to sustain. Rising production costs, shifting ticket purchasing habits, and the lack of long-term financial sponsorship meant the open-air project was no longer economically viable. The official channels have shifted to archival notes thanking fans for an unforgettable 2025 edition.

Ticket Info & Future Alternatives

As no pre-sales were initiated for 2027, no refunds or ticket returns are required. Official ticketing partners (such as oeticket) have permanently closed sales for this event series. For alternative urban or rock festivals in Austria, music fans are referred to active events like the FM4 Frequency Festival or Nova Rock.
