Welcome to the Lienz Advent Market 2026 in Lienz
The Lienz Advent Market takes place from 20 November to 24 December 2026 on the historic main square in front of the Liebburg, the town hall of the city. Under the motto “Once again be a child”, the square in the capital of East Tyrol transforms into an atmospheric Advent village with artfully decorated stalls, fairy lights and open fireplaces. The Alpine atmosphere, the scent of gingerbread, Kiachln and mulled wine as well as traditional Tyrolean sounds characterise this particularly authentic Christmas market.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026
The market offers a festive atmosphere every day with crafts, live music and cultural contributions. Monday to Thursday trade opens from 15:00 to 20:00, Friday to Sunday from 10:00 (gastronomy until 21:00 in each case). Extended hours apply on 8 December; on 24 December the market closes at 13:00. Every day at 18:30 a new window of the large Advent calendar on the Liebburg is opened – a social highlight. The living workshop invites visitors to watch and participate, while Family Advent in the second half of December offers special activities for children. The Krampus Days bring traditional customs to the square.
