Welcome to the Ski Opening 2026 in Obertauern
Obertauern’s big live-music week in the snow is Ski Opening Week, not Live is Life. Live is Life is a separate mountain festival in Arosa Lenzerheide, Switzerland; its 2026 edition already ran from 3 to 5 April. In Obertauern the 2026/2027 season opens from 27 November to 8 December 2026 with open-air shows on the pass. Source: obertauern.com.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026
Ski Opening Week 2026 runs 27 November to 8 December. Two evening concerts are confirmed: Saturday 28 November, Die Fantastischen Vier; Friday 4 December, Anastacia. Doors 6.30 pm, stage 8.30 pm. Daytime animation and apres-ski run in parallel and are not the same as the ticketed shows. A 2027 headline package had not been published as of September 2026.
If you want Live is Life: free stages and main stages sit in Arosa and Lenzerheide, not in Salzburg province. After April 2026 the next Swiss edition had no new date by September 2026. Check liveislife.ch separately from obertauern.com.
Tickets & Admission for Ski Opening Obertauern
Standing tickets are 79 euros on site or about 81 euros online; VIP from 299 euros on site or about 306 euros online. Sales: obertauern-tickets.com and the Obertauern tourist office at Haus des Gastes. Hosts in Obertauern, Untertauern and Tweng often bundle a ski pass and concert seat. Swiss Live is Life tickets are not valid here.
Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Obertauern
- Drive via the Katschberg or Radstaedter Tauern pass; check winter closures and snow chains. Train to Radstadt or Bischofshofen, then bus
- Late November and early December on the pass are cold and windy; pack layers and solid boots, not light festival wear
- Book rooms early; opening week is peak demand
- Buy a ski pass separately or inside a lodging package; slopes and the concert field sit close but are not one ticket
- Do not mix the names: Live is Life = Arosa Lenzerheide; Obertauern = Ski Opening
