Welcome to the Lozärner Weihnachtsmärt 2026 in Lucerne

The traditional Lozärner Weihnachtsmärt takes place from 3 to 21 December 2026 on Franziskanerplatz in the heart of the historic Little Old Town. Around the Franciscan Church, around 70 lovingly decorated stalls create a contemplative Advent atmosphere. Daily from 11:00 (market stalls until 20:00, food stalls until 21:00, final day until 19:00), crafts, culinary specialities and music invite visitors to linger.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026

The Lozärner Weihnachtsmärt forms the atmospheric centre of the Advent season in the Old Town. Opening and supporting programmes take place in the Franciscan Church and on the square. Regional music groups provide festive sounds almost every day. Additional locations in Lucerne offer varied experiences.

Rudolfs Weihnacht at Inseli Park

From 20 November to 23 December 2026, Inseli Park on Lake Lucerne transforms into a Christmas village with more than 50 chalets, bars and food trucks. Highlights include the cosy Fondue Chalet and the Music Chalet with live programme. Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 11:00–22:00, Sunday 11:00–20:00. Opening on 20 November at 17:00. Admission is free.

Lucerne Christmas and Craft Market at Weinmarkt

On selected days in December (5, 8, 12, 13, 19 and 20 December 2026), artisans present unique handmade products in design, jewellery, ceramics and textiles on the Weinmarkt. Ideal for discovering handcrafted gifts in a historic Old Town atmosphere.

International Christmas Forum Venite at Kapellplatz

Expected from 17 to 20 December 2026 (provisional), the International Christmas Forum Venite takes place on Kapellplatz. More than 20 countries present their Christmas traditions, culinary specialities and cultural performances. Stage programmes with choirs and dance groups as well as evening events in St. Peter’s Chapel complete the international offering.

• Arrival by train to Lucerne station is most convenient; Franziskanerplatz is only a few minutes’ walk away. By car, parking garages such as Altstadt, Kesselturm and station parking are available.
