Welcome to the Ludwigsburg Baroque Christmas Market 2026
From 24 November to 22 December 2026, the arcaded market square of Ludwigsburg turns into a sparkling winter wonderland. Around 150 stalls invite visitors to browse and enjoy around the two historic churches and, for the first time, also on Arsenalplatz. The Ludwigsburg Baroque Christmas Market is regarded as one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in the region and is famous for its oversized, warmly lit angel figures floating above the stalls.

Program
The market square stalls are open daily from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM; Arsenalplatz keeps slightly different hours, from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM Sunday through Thursday and from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Every Saturday around midday, King Friedrich I of Württemberg traditionally strolls through the market with his royal court for a distinctive regal touch. Alongside handicrafts and gift ideas, visitors can enjoy classic treats such as mulled wine, punch, roasted chestnuts and freshly baked gingerbread, along with Swabian specialties like Schupfnudeln. A varied live music program accompanies the Advent season on many dates.

Admission to the Ludwigsburg Baroque Christmas Market is free; no entrance fee applies. For visitors with specific dietary needs, the city provides an overview of stalls offering lactose free, gluten free, nut free, vegan or vegetarian products.
Visitor Tips
- Weekends and the days around Advent tend to be crowded; a weekday visit is generally more relaxed.
- Bring warm clothing and sturdy shoes, as the market takes place entirely outdoors.
- Traveling by bus or train is recommended, as parking in the city center is limited.
- Ludwigsburg Residential Palace, the largest baroque palace complex in Germany, sits just across the way and is well worth a visit.
- Arrive around midday on Saturdays to catch the appearance of King Friedrich I.
