Program
Along the pedestrian street Avenida Arriaga in Funchal, traditional wine making tools such as presses, casks and grape baskets are displayed throughout the festival, alongside reenactments of old harvest customs and regional gastronomy. The Madeira Wine Lounge at Praça do Povo runs from 31 August to 13 September, offering tastings from multiple wine producers in a modern setting, paired with themed dinners and live music. The emotional highlight takes place in Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, where the harvest is reenacted live and visitors can join locals in stomping grapes barefoot the traditional way. Concerts held among the island's vineyards add to the program, with exact dates confirmed closer to the event.
Tickets
The street events in Funchal, including the displays on Avenida Arriaga and the celebrations in Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, are free to attend. The wine tastings at the Madeira Wine Lounge, along with individual themed dinners and guided vineyard tours, come at separate cost, best confirmed directly with the respective organisers or on the official Visit Madeira website.
