Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Zermatt

• Zermatt is car-free. Drive only as far as Täsch, park there and continue by Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn; trains also connect from Zurich, Bern and Milan into the village.
• Mid-December weather is cold, often snowy and windy. Pack insulated boots, layered clothing and a change for club nights; add helmet and a separate ski pass if you plan to ride.
• December rooms sell out. Book festival hotel packages or lodging near Cervo, Backstage Hotel and the village centre as early as possible.
• Venues are spread through town. Allow walking time or an electric taxi between Vernissage (Hofmattstrasse 4) and Cervo, and dress for queues outdoors.
