Welcome to the Maimarkt and Maikirmes 2027 in Duren
Maimarkt and Maikirmes open the outdoor season on Annakirmesplatz along Aachener Strasse in Duren. The city pairs a large traders’ and junk market with a classic funfair, while the folk archery brotherhood St. Rochus and St. Sebastianus 1486 Duren holds its marksmen’s festival in the marquee.
The 2026 edition ran from 30 April to 3 May. The City of Duren has not yet published a confirmed date for 2027. The usual window is several days around 1 May, from late April into early May. Check opening hours and the programme on dueren.de before you travel.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027
Until the City of Duren publishes a new calendar, the recent pattern is only a guide, not a confirmed 2027 plan. Last time the Maimarkt was open daily from 11:00 to 20:00 and the Maikirmes daily from 11:00 to 22:00. Both parts ran on the same days.
The Maikirmes is a proper funfair, with rides for children and adults plus sales and game stalls. The Maimarkt fills the remaining space as a traders’ and household market. The marksmen’s festival uses the marquee on another part of the square. Exact side events for 2027, such as a ball, parade or music programme, have not been announced officially.
Maikirmes on Annakirmesplatz
Carousels, bumper cars and other showmen’s rides stand on the first section of the square. This is the playful core of the weekend and it closes later than the sales market. There is no admission ticket.
Maimarkt for Home, Garden and Everyday Goods
The Maimarkt is the trading half: stalls for household and garden goods, everyday items and classic market finds. Last time the sales stalls closed at 20:00, while the rides stayed open longer.
Marksmen’s Festival of St. Rochus and St. Sebastianus
The folk archery brotherhood St. Rochus and St. Sebastianus 1486 Duren celebrates its Schützenfest at the same time in the festival tent. In 2026 a highlight was the Great King’s Ball on Saturday evening. Whether a ball, morning gathering or parade returns in 2027 is not yet confirmed.

Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Duren
- Annakirmesplatz is on Aachener Strasse. The Rur riverside cycle path passes the site and works well by bike in fair weather.
- Late April and early May can be mild or still cool and windy. Bring a jacket for the evening on the fairground.
- Book rooms in Duren early once the date is fixed, especially if the weekend falls on a public holiday.
- Market stalls and the funfair close at different times. Arrive earlier if you mainly want to browse; rides usually run later.
- Confirm the date on dueren.de. While that page still shows the 2026 dates, the 2027 dates are not set.
