From 26 November to 23 December 2026, the city center of Mainz shines in festive splendor. Set against the imposing backdrop of the 1,000-year-old St. Martin's Cathedral and framed by historic Renaissance facades, the Mainz Christmas Market offers a uniquely atmospheric and traditional experience. It is widely considered one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Germany.

Program

The market spans the historic Marktplatz, Höfchen, and Liebfrauenplatz squares. Open daily from 11:00 AM to 8:30 PM (often until 9:00 PM on weekends), visitors can enjoy a diverse festive program. The absolute centerpiece is the giant Christmas pyramid, decorated with typical figures from Mainz history. Musical performances by brass bands and local choirs perfectly complete the traditional evening experience.
