Welcome to Malmö Festival 2027 in Malmö
Since 1985, Malmö Festival has turned the heart of Malmö into Scandinavia's largest city festival every August. Over the course of a week, squares, parks and streets around Stortorget and Gustav Adolfs Torg fill with music, food, art and activities for every age group, and it all remains completely free to attend.

Program and Schedule: What to Expect in 2027
The festival traditionally opens on a Friday with an inaugural speech and the popular crayfish party on Stortorget, followed by roughly a week of continuous programming. Daytime brings family activities and smaller stages, while evenings hand the city centre over to large concerts on the main stage. The full 2027 program with set times and artists is usually only published shortly before the event.
Admission and Costs at Malmö Festival 2027
Attending Malmö Festival costs nothing, as no tickets or festival passes are sold. Only individual funfair rides and food and drinks within the catering areas come with a price tag. Special rules on alcohol consumption apply inside the fenced serving zones.
Visitor Tips: Travel and Accommodation in Malmö
- Malmö Central station sits right next to the festival area and is easy to reach by train from Stockholm, Gothenburg or Copenhagen
- A bicycle is the most practical way to get around within the city, with plenty of bike parking available nearby
- Arrive early for the big concerts on Stortorget if you want a good spot
- Book accommodation in Malmö well ahead of time given the large number of visitors
- Anyone wanting to join the crayfish party tradition on opening night should be there from the very first evening
