Chemin des Crèches: The Nativity Trail Through the Old Town
Running alongside the Christmas market, the Chemin des Crèches invites visitors to discover around twenty handcrafted nativity scenes created by different communities, parishes and institutions across the city of Sion. The roughly ninety minute walking route traditionally begins at Place des Princes and winds through the narrow lanes of the old town. Last year's edition ran from December 7 to January 6, open daily from 10am to 9pm, free of charge. Exact dates for the 2026 to 2027 edition had not yet been officially published at the time of writing, though the concept and the general Advent to early January timeframe remain unchanged from year to year.
