Welcome to the Maritime Days Bremerhaven 2027
In August 2027, the Havenwelten Bremerhaven will once again transform into a massive festival ground. The Maritime Days Bremerhaven (Maritime Tage) is one of the largest maritime festivals on the German North Sea coast, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. Majestic tall ships, historic steamboats, and modern research vessels dock in the Neuer Hafen and Kaiserhafen, inviting you to an unforgettable harbor festival.
Highlights
- Experience international tall ships and historical vessels up close
- Open-Ship: Free ship tours on numerous sailing vessels
- Grand fireworks display over the River Weser on Saturday evening
- Live music on multiple stages throughout the harbor area
- A huge selection of street food and maritime market stalls
- Family entertainment and carnival rides for children
Program
The festival runs for five days, from Wednesday, August 11, to Sunday, August 15, 2027. Every day from 11:00 AM, the food stalls open, and ships welcome visitors for Open-Ship tours (exact times vary by vessel). Stages around the Neuer Hafen feature regional and national bands playing late into the evening. The absolute highlight of the festival is the traditional fireworks show on Saturday night (around 10:30 PM), which spectacularly illuminates the night sky over the Havenwelten and the Weser.
Tickets & Prices
Access to the entire Maritime Days festival area and the live concerts is completely free of charge (€0.00). Boarding many of the ships (Open-Ship) is also free, though donations for the maintenance of the traditional ships are highly appreciated. The only paid activities are special sailing trips (e.g., half-day trips on the Weser), for which tickets must be purchased in advance via the official Bremerhaven website or directly at the ships.
Safety & Rules
- For safety reasons, glass bottles are often not permitted on the festival grounds.
- Bag checks may be conducted at the entrances to the Havenwelten and concert areas.
- Due to the large crowds and loud noises (especially during the fireworks), it is recommended to leave dogs at home.
- Pay special attention to children near the water edges and on the pontoons.
Visitor Tips
- Travel: Use public transport whenever possible. Bremerhaven Central Station is well connected, and buses run directly to the Havenwelten.
- If arriving by car, head to the large parking garages (e.g., Parkhaus Havenwelten or Columbus-Center) early, as they fill up quickly.
- Take advantage of the early morning hours for Open-Ship visits to avoid long lines at the most popular tall ships.
- Bring a weatherproof jacket; the weather on the North Sea coast can be windy and changeable even in August.
