Festa della Bruna Matera 2027 – Procession, Chariot Destruction & Visitor Guide
On 2 July 2027, Matera celebrates the 638th Festa della Madonna della Bruna: a dawn shepherd's procession, a Cavalcata of around 100 knights, a magnificent papier-mâché Carro Trionfale and the unmissable Strazzo, when the crowd tears the chariot apart for good luck. Free admission, over 120,000 visitors expected.
