Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027
2027 dates have not been confirmed. Meakusma typically occupies a long September weekend (Thursday to Sunday) and runs from daytime concerts through late-night DJ sets. The programme mixes live performances, club music, installations, workshops and talks. Recent venues have included Alter Schlachthof, the IKOB Museum of Contemporary Art, churches, Eupen Plaza and other indoor and outdoor spaces. The 2027 lineup is not yet published; the 2026 edition featured around 140 acts spanning experimental electronics, jazz, improvisation and club culture.

Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Eupen
- Travel: Eupen is in Belgium’s German-speaking Community, close to the German border. Trains via Liege or Aachen work well; from Eupen station most venues are walkable or a short local trip.
- Weather and clothing: Early September can be mild, cool and changeable. Layers, comfortable shoes for moving between venues, and a light rain jacket are useful.
- Stay: Hotels in Eupen fill up because many rooms are held for artists. Book early or use the festival campsite on the Ettersten meadows below Alter Schlachthof.
- City format: Venues are close, but the schedule is dense. Sketch a daily route and leave time between sets.
- Volunteering: If a ticket is out of budget, volunteer shifts have often included festival entry. Details appear on the official site.
