Welcome to the Médiévale de Corroy-le-Château 2026
On 30 and 31 May 2026, the Château de Corroy-le-Château near Gembloux in the Province of Namur transforms into a fully immersive medieval village. The 22nd edition of this beloved festival draws around 3,000 visitors and more than thirty historical companies from Belgium and neighbouring countries. The château itself, one of the best-preserved medieval fortresses in Belgium, was built in the 13th century and provides a breathtaking backdrop for this living history experience.

Program
The festival opens on Saturday 30 May at 11:00 AM and runs until 10:00 PM. On Sunday 31 May, gates open at 10:00 AM and close at 6:00 PM. Throughout the weekend, visitors can wander between encampments and gardens, discover medieval craftspeople and merchants, and watch scheduled performances including falconry shows, armoured combat demonstrations and the dramatic late-afternoon castle assault featuring all participating companies. Medieval food and authentic drinks are available on site throughout both days.

The Château de Corroy-le-Château
Built between 1220 and 1230 by William of Brabant, the Château de Corroy-le-Château is one of the most impressive and best-preserved medieval castles in Belgium. Its massive round towers and surrounding moat make it one of the most spectacular festival settings in Wallonia. In 2026, visitors can explore the castle interior for the first time during the event.
