Welcome to the Merano Grape Festival 2026 in Merano
The Merano Grape Festival 2026 takes place from 16 to 18 October in the historic centre of Merano and celebrates its 140th edition. Held since 1886, the festival gives thanks for the grape harvest. Expect a colourful grand parade, South Tyrolean folk music, traditional costume groups and regional specialities with free admission.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026
The festival opens on Friday, 16 October, with a ceremonial start at 19:00 at the Kursaal (free entry, seat reservation recommended). Saturday and Sunday feature market stalls, musical performances and culinary offerings (approximately 10:00–18:00). The highlight is the grand parade on Sunday, 18 October, starting at 14:15 from the Vinschgauer Gate and proceeding through the city centre. The event combines a long-standing harvest tradition with living customs and ranks among South Tyrol’s best-known autumn festivals.

- Getting there: Merano is easily reachable by train (Merano station). The festival area is central and walkable.
- Weatherproof and comfortable clothing plus sturdy shoes are recommended for autumn weather and standing along the parade route.
- Book accommodation in the city centre or along the Passer early, as the weekend is very popular.
- Secure good viewing spots for the parade in advance, especially along Rennweg, Corso della Libertà and the Kurpromenade.
