Event Details

What is the Midnight Sun Festival?

The Midnight Sun Festival is a new music, art and cultural gathering in Iceland, created by the producers of Iceland Eclipse. The team is not new to this: the same organizers previously ran Secret Solstice, the well known festival that for years combined live music with glacier parties and concerts inside lava tunnels under Iceland's midnight sun, though it has not taken place in recent years. With Midnight Sun, the team is now going, in their own words, "back to Iceland" with a fresh concept.

When does the Midnight Sun Festival 2027 take place?

The festival is officially announced for 9 to 11 July 2027. This places it right in the middle of Iceland's summer season, when the sun stays above the horizon and the famous midnight sun keeps daylight going around the clock.

Where does the festival take place?

The exact venue is deliberately kept secret by the organizers; the official site currently lists only "Secret Location, Iceland", with Reykjavik as a general reference point. The precise location is expected to be revealed closer to the event date (TBA).

Is there information on the program, lineup or tickets yet?

Not yet. As of now (summer 2026), the Midnight Sun Festival has not opened ticket sales, confirmed a lineup, or published pricing. Interested visitors can sign up for the newsletter on the official website to be the first to know once presale, pricing and artist announcements go live. This page will be updated once reliable details are available.

What makes this festival unique?

  • Midnight sun: continuous daylight throughout the whole festival
  • From the producers of Iceland Eclipse, known for unusual, off the beaten path locations
  • First edition of a new format rooted in the Secret Solstice tradition
  • Focus on music, art and cultural programming rather than concerts alone

How do I get to Iceland for the festival?

All international flights land at Keflavík Airport (Leifsstöð), about an hour's drive from Reykjavik. Flybus and other shuttle services connect the airport to the capital. Since the exact venue has not been announced, it is best to finalize travel plans only after the official location is revealed.
