Welcome to Mozart Week 2027 in Salzburg
From 21 to 31 January 2027, Salzburg once again becomes the world capital of Mozart's music. Mozart Week has been organized by the Mozarteum Foundation since 1956 around Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's birthday on 27 January and ranks among the most important classical music festivals worldwide. Under the theme "Mozart and 'Mozarts'", the 2027 program pairs Mozart with lesser known contemporaries such as Arriaga, Saint Georges, Kraus and Devienne.

Program
At the center of Mozart Week 2027 is a semi staged performance of "Così fan tutte" with the Camerata Salzburg under Ivor Bolton and a cast led by Thomas Hampson and Kathryn Lewek; with it, Rolando Villazón completes his DaPonte cycle following "Le nozze di Figaro" and "Don Giovanni". The Vienna Philharmonic performs on several evenings, including with Adam Fischer, Igor Levit and Víkingur Ólafsson. The program is rounded out by the production "Die Schule der Liebenden" in cooperation with the Mozarteum University, along with numerous chamber concerts, family concerts, readings and a puppet theatre. Concerts take place throughout the day, from morning events in the Wiener Saal to evening concerts in the Great Hall of the Mozarteum and the Festival Hall.
Tickets
Tickets are available through the Mozarteum Foundation's website and at the box office on Theatergasse 2. Depending on venue and category, prices range from about 15 to 290 euros; some concerts on Mozartplatz are free. Reduced tickets from 25 euros are available for those under 27 in education, and a 50 percent discount applies for all visitors under 30, subject to availability. Subscriptions are sold exclusively at the box office and offer savings of up to 20 percent.
Visitor Tips
- Book tickets for the most popular concerts early, as many performances sell out quickly.
- The box office at each venue opens one hour before the performance starts.
- Salzburg is cold in January; bring warm clothing for moving between venues in the old town.
