Welcome to the Munich Strong Beer Festival 2027 in Munich
The original Munich Strong Beer Festival takes place from 26 February to 21 March 2027 at Paulaner am Nockherberg. After Carnival, Munich’s “fifth season” – the strong beer season – begins. Here the famous Paulaner Salvator is served, accompanied by hearty Bavarian specialities and genuine Oktoberfest atmosphere with the Wiesn band Südherz. This is the most traditional and best-known strong beer celebration in the city and attracts mainly locals and connoisseurs.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027
The Strong Beer Festival at Nockherberg runs for three weeks. Typical opening hours are Monday to Friday from around 16:00 to 22:30, with additional lunchtime sessions at weekends. Guests enjoy the smooth Salvator, live music and Bavarian cuisine in the large festival hall and, weather permitting, in the self-service beer garden. The official tapping with the famous political Lenten sermon and singspiel takes place at the beginning of the season and is reserved for invited guests – it is broadcast live on Bavarian television.
In parallel, further strong beer festivals take place in Munich, including at the Löwenbräukeller and Augustiner-Keller. These complement the offer with their own Doppelbock beers and programmes. Tickets & Admission for Munich Strong Beer Festival Munich
Admission is charged. Individual entry tickets (including a drink token) are available online and at the evening box office. A table reservation for up to 10 people costs 225 euros and includes admission for all plus drink tokens worth 15.40 euros each. Online tickets grant single-day entry and include one drink token. Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Munich
- Excellent public transport connections: Tram lines 15/18/25, buses and U-Bahn (Kolumbusplatz or Silberhornstraße). A paid underground car park is available.
- Choose warm but not overly heavy clothing – the halls quickly become cosy. Traditional costume is welcome but not required.
- Book accommodation in the Au, Haidhausen or central areas early, as the strong beer season is very popular with locals.
- Table reservations are strongly recommended, especially at weekends. Spontaneous visitors can buy entry tickets without a seat guarantee.
