Welcome to the Musikfest Berlin 2026 in Berlin
Musikfest Berlin 2026 takes place from 28 August to 23 September in Berlin and opens the concert season. Organised by the Berliner Festspiele in cooperation with the Berliner Philharmoniker Foundation, the festival marks the 75th anniversary of the Berliner Festspiele. Across 36 events at the Philharmonie Berlin, its Chamber Music Hall, the Haus der Berliner Festspiele, the Konzerthaus Berlin and the Deutsche Oper Berlin, more than 60 works by around 40 composers will be performed.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026
Musikfest Berlin 2026 presents a dense programme of orchestral concerts, chamber music, music theatre and staged formats over nearly four weeks. Most events take place in the evenings at the Philharmonie Berlin and other central venues. The programme honours the anniversary of the Berliner Festspiele with historical references while showcasing contemporary compositions. Highlights include performances of works by Hans Werner Henze on the occasion of his 100th birthday, world premieres and guest ensembles from Finland, the USA, South Africa, Japan and across Europe. Tickets & Admission for Musikfest Berlin Berlin
Tickets for Musikfest Berlin 2026 are available via the Berliner Festspiele webshop and at the respective box offices. Prices start at approximately 19 euros and range up to around 90 euros depending on the concert and category (selected premium concerts may be higher). Concessions are available. As many events are in high demand, early booking is recommended. Remaining tickets are sometimes sold at the evening box offices.
Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Berlin
- Public transport: The Philharmonie Berlin is easily reachable via S-Bahn and U-Bahn Potsdamer Platz as well as several bus lines (e.g. 200, M41).
- Plan light evening attire for concerts; the halls are air-conditioned, while evenings in September can be cool outdoors.
- Book accommodation in the Potsdamer Platz, Tiergarten or Mitte areas early, as the festival falls during peak season.
- Combine several concerts on the same day or consecutive evenings – the venues are centrally located and well connected.
- Arrive early to attend pre-concert introductions and enjoy the atmosphere of the Philharmonie.
