Welcome to the Nadal na Coruña 2026–2027 in A Coruña

Nadal na Coruña 2026–2027 is not a single ticketed festival. It is the City Council’s Christmas season in A Coruña: illuminations, family activities, concerts and end-of-year events spread across the centre and the neighbourhoods. The focus is again Praza de María Pita, where the Praza do Nadal has been under construction since 13 October 2026. The full calendar — from the lights switch-on to early January 2027 — has not been published yet. Last season the programme ran from late November until 5 January.

Highlights & Attractions at Nadal na Coruña in A Coruña

  • A citywide Christmas season lasting several weeks: lights, culture and family programming in the centre and the districts, with no admission ticket for the public spaces.
  • Praza do Nadal in María Pita, planned by the council in three linked zones: food, culture and a family area.
  • Five hospitality stalls for local businesses, plus a covered seating area, serving sweet and savoury Christmas food and mulled wine. Food and drink are paid.
  • A large Christmas tree and music stage in the central strip for part of the cultural programme, plus Santa’s house, a carousel, a polar train and an illuminated “Xardín do Nadal”.
  • Installation started on the Porta Real side and continues over several weeks. The public opening and the official 2026 lights switch-on have not been announced.
  • A lights route through the centre and the neighbourhoods is a fixture of Nadal. The 2026–2027 scheme is not published yet; in 2025–2026 the city used about 2.8 million LED points and around 560 arches across ten districts.
  • Concerts, theatre, workshops and the Three Kings parade are announced separately. The 2025–2026 cultural diary had more than 300 activities; the figure for this season is not out.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027

As of mid-October 2026 the council has not published the Nadal na Coruña 2026–2027 diary. What is confirmed is the new Praza do Nadal in María Pita: the commercial zone by Porta Real first, then the tree, stage, carousel, polar train and light garden. Mayor Inés Rey said local hospitality businesses should be able to take their stalls early. Press reports describe an installation of about seven weeks; that is build time, not how long the village stays open.

Use the last full season only as a pattern, not as the 2026–2027 dates. Lights were switched on at 19:00 on 28 November 2025 from the María Pita balcony. The Mercado de Nadal typically ran 11:00–15:00 and 17:00–22:00. The cultural programme continued until 5 January, with the Cabalgata de los Reyes on the afternoon of 5 January. Classic light canopies included Rúa Real, Praza de Azcárraga, Campo da Leña and Praza de San Vicente in Os Mallos. Whether hours, motifs and the 2027 parade route stay the same is unknown. Check coruna.gal for the live agenda.

Tickets & Admission for Nadal na Coruña A Coruña

There is no admission ticket for the Christmas lights or for spending time in the Praza do Nadal. Food, drink and, in all likelihood, individual rides plus some theatre or concert nights are paid. Prices for the carousel, the polar train and the 2026–2027 cultural bill have not been published. Last season the market hours were 11:00–15:00 and 17:00–22:00; whether that repeats is not confirmed. Tickets for specific shows, when required, go through the promoter and the council agenda at coruna.gal, not through one festival pass.

Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in A Coruña

  • The old town is compact and walkable. Start at María Pita, follow the lit Rúa Real and continue to the Marina. City buses link the neighbourhoods. The railway and bus stations are close to the centre; A Coruña Airport (Alvedro) is south of the city.
  • Atlantic winter weather: often 8–14 °C, with frequent rain and wind. A waterproof jacket, sturdy shoes and an extra layer for the evening beat thin party clothes.
  • Christmas, New Year’s Eve and Epiphany book out in the centre and along the Marina. Reserve early if you want to be within walking distance of the lights and the Praza do Nadal.
  • This is not one continuous stage festival. Concerts, children’s workshops in the civic centres and the Three Kings parade are released separately. Check the agenda on coruna.gal shortly before you go, because times can change.
  • Look beyond the centre. In 2025–2026 arches and motifs were spread across all ten districts, not only María Pita. The 2026–2027 map will follow once the city publishes it.
