From 4 to 13 September 2026, Nazaré celebrates the Nossa Senhora da Nazaré festival with a procession, Festival de Folclore, concerts and a traditional fair in the old town. The highlight is 8 September with a solemn mass and grand procession, and entry is free.

Nazaré Big Wave Season 2026/2027: Giant Wave Surfing in Portugal
From October 2026 to March 2027, the world famous big wave season returns to Nazaré. Thanks to the underwater canyon, waves exceeding 20 meters rise at Praia do Norte; the best free viewpoint is the lighthouse.
