Welcome to the New Year's Eve Celebrations 2026/2027 in Albufeira
Albufeira on the Algarve coast marks the 2026/2027 turn of the year with Carpe Nox, the municipal New Year's Eve show on Praia dos Pescadores. The official programme starts at 22:00 on 31 December 2026 at Fishermen's Beach and continues on 1 January 2027. Admission to the public beach event has been free in recent editions; hotel galas, restaurant dinners and club nights in town are ticketed separately.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026/2027
Albufeira City Council presented the Carpe Nox 2027 line-up on 20 August 2026. On 31 December 2026 the show starts at 22:00 on Praia dos Pescadores and builds towards midnight. Calema perform on the main stage; DJ Nox leads the countdown from Stage X. At midnight, more than 1,250 drones are due to tell a story in the sky, paired with pyrotechnics and effects over land and water. The night continues with DJ Nox after the countdown.
On 1 January 2027, Carolina Deslandes is booked for a concert at the first sunset of the year, again at Praia dos Pescadores. Companion events such as a street-food market and the medieval festival in Paderne featured in previous New Year programmes; full 2027 sideline dates had not been published at the time of research. Tickets & Admission for New Year's Eve Albufeira
The public Carpe Nox gathering on Praia dos Pescadores is a free event, based on official practice in recent years and the absence of a ticket sale for the beach show. You only pay for food, drinks, transport and lodging. Hotel packages, restaurant revels and nightclub parties in Albufeira or nearby Vilamoura are charged separately and can run into several hundred euros per person for gala dinners. Book those directly with the venue.
Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Albufeira
- Faro Airport (FAO) is about 40 minutes away by car or transfer; expect road closures around the Old Town and beach on 31 December.
- Late December on the Algarve is often around 12–16°C; the open beach is windy, so bring a warm layer and comfortable shoes.
- Hotel occupancy exceeded 90 percent after the last edition. Reserve early in the Old Town, the marina area or Areias de São João.
- Use signed access points (Rua 5 de Outubro tunnel, Praia do Peneco steps, Praia do Inatel, Largo Cais Herculano) and arrive before 22:00 for a closer view of the stage.
- Walk or use public transport where possible: centre car parks fill quickly and several streets are closed to traffic.
