Welcome to the New Year's Eve 2026/2027 in Amersfoort
Amersfoort marks New Year's Eve 2026/2027 in the historic centre around De Hof and Sint-Joriskerk. The main public highlight is Countdown033: a musical countdown concert with facade projections, DJs and live performances. Cafes and bars stay open across the old town, some with free entry and others with ticketed party packages. Official lineup details are published closer to 31 December 2026 by Visit Amersfoort (Tijd voor Amersfoort) and the municipality.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026/2027
The official city programme is centred on De Hof. In recent editions the evening started around 22:30 with local DJs, followed by the countdown concert around 23:30 and a dance set after midnight. On 1 January the show was typically repeated at 17:30. For 2026/2027 the destination site already announces a new Countdown033 edition at the foot of Sint-Joriskerk; the exact artist lineup will be released closer to the date. At the same time, venues across town host free parties, ticketed nights with snacks and sparkling wine, and karaoke after midnight. If you cannot stand on the square, a livestream has been offered in previous years.
Expect De Hof to close once it is full. Bring-your-own drinks and fireworks are not allowed on the square; drinks are sold at the outdoor bar. Confirm final 2026/2027 times shortly before New Year's Eve on tijdvooramersfoort.nl and amersfoort.nl.
Tickets & Admission for New Year's Eve Amersfoort
Public Countdown033 on De Hof has been free in recent official announcements, with limited space, so arrive early. Many bars also offer free entry until they reach capacity. Paid New Year's Eve nights in town recently ranged from about 20 to 25 euros, often including drinks, snacks, oliebollen and a midnight toast. Recent examples include Cafe Lapart at around 20 euros and Pitchers at around 25 euros including BBQ. Club tickets are usually sold at the bar or by the venue, not through one central festival shop. Prices for 2026/2027 may change; check individual venues and Visit Amersfoort.
Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Amersfoort
- Travel by train to Amersfoort Centraal; De Hof is a 10 to 15 minute walk. The inner city is largely car-free. Use parking garages such as Beestenmarkt, Flintplein or Koestraat if you come by car.
- Late December is cold, often wet and windy. Wear warm layers, sturdy shoes and a waterproof jacket.
- Book hotels early for the turn of the year. Staying in the old town or near the station makes the walk home after midnight easier.
- Amersfoort bans consumer fireworks in categories F2 to F4 all year, including New Year's Eve. Do not expect a classic public fireworks display; the spectacle is music, light and the church projection.
- Bicycle parking is available on Langestraat. After the countdown, bars fill quickly, so plan your next stop. Oliebollen are part of the local New Year ritual; stalls and bakeries around the city are worth a stop.
