Welcome to the New Year's Eve and New Year Celebrations 2026/2027 in Puerto de la Cruz
Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife sees out the year with an open-air town party and welcomes 2027 under palm trees, Christmas lights and Atlantic air. The traditional meeting point is Plaza del Charco in the historic centre, together with the harbour, Casa de la Aduana and the illuminated old-town streets. The detailed stage line-up for New Year's Eve 2026/2027 is usually published by the town hall in late autumn; the dates 31 December 2026 and 1 January 2027 are fixed.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026/2027
The municipal Gran Fiesta de Fin de Año has in recent years started between 22:00 and 23:00 and run until about 06:00. Local orchestras play before midnight; at 00:00 come the chimes and grapes, often followed by fireworks near Muelle Pesquero and a DJ or orchestra set until dawn. In some editions the stage moved to Casa de la Aduana, next to Plaza del Charco, for safety reasons. The confirmed venue for 2026/2027 will appear in the official Christmas programme.
December and early January form one continuous festive season: street lighting, a Christmas fair on the Explanada del Muelle, concerts, comedy nights and children's activities. Tickets & Admission for New Year's Eve in Puerto de la Cruz
The town's public New Year's Eve celebration is free; there is no municipal ticket. Food and drinks are paid for in bars and on terraces. Hotels, clubs and private operators also sell gala dinners or boat parties at their own rates; those are separate from the free plaza fiesta. The official Christmas and New Year programme is typically released in November on the town hall website.
Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Puerto de la Cruz
- Getting there: Tenerife North Airport (TFN) is about 30 minutes away and Tenerife South (TFS) about one hour; TITSA buses and taxis serve the centre, and Plaza del Charco is walkable from most central hotels.
- What to wear: Daytime temperatures are often 17–21 °C, cooler and windier by the sea at night; bring a light jacket, comfortable shoes and a compact rain layer.
- Book lodging early: New Year is peak season on the north coast; the old town, Lago Martiánez and Playa Jardín fill first.
- Grapes and timing: Buy twelve grapes before midnight and arrive early — the square gets very crowded.
- Getting home: Night buses are limited after midnight; stay within walking distance or pre-book a taxi. Follow updates from the town hall and the local fiestas department.
