The family run Göller brewery in Drosendorf, part of Memmelsdorf near Bamberg, will tap its new Bockbier on 18 September 2026 from 15:00 to 23:00; the Bockbieranstich counts among the first cask tappings of the Franconian Bock season.

A ceremonial tapping to mark the start of Bockbier season is a long standing tradition in Franconia, where many small breweries open the new season with such an event in late summer or autumn. In Drosendorf, that role traditionally falls to the small family brewery Göller.

What to expect at the Bockbieranstich

The centrepiece is the ceremonial tapping of the new Bockbier at the brewery's rustic inn. Hearty Franconian food is served from the restaurant's kitchen, some of it from the brewery's own butchery. The setting is village style and relaxed; the inn sits in the surroundings of the Fränkische Toskana and directly on the popular cycling and hiking route linking 13 breweries in the Bamberg region. In previous years the celebration was accompanied by a morning gathering or live music; visitors can check the brewery's Facebook page or website closer to the date for the current programme.

Admission, getting there and practical tips

Admission to the entire event is free; visitors only pay on site for food and drinks. The brewery is located at Scheßlitzer Straße 7 in Drosendorf and can be reached by bus line 907 from Bamberg. Those arriving by car should note limited parking in the village surroundings. Since late September evenings can already turn cool, warm clothing is advisable for later in the day. Accommodation is mainly available in nearby Bamberg, just a few kilometres away.
