Welcome to the Nikolausmarkt Brakel 2026 in Brakel
The cozy Nikolausmarkt Brakel invites visitors from 3 to 6 December 2026 for relaxed hours on the historic market square. Small but fine, with a unique atmosphere under the fir trees, the square in front of the town hall turns into a winter wonderland. The opening takes place on Thursday, 3 December 2026 at 6 pm by Mayor Alexander Kleinschmidt and a visit from St. Nicholas.

The Nikolausmarkt runs from Thursday to Sunday and offers a varied program every day. On the opening day at 6 pm, St. Nicholas welcomes visitors together with the mayor and the Werbering. On the following days there is market activity with culinary offerings, crafts and musical performances. Bark mulch and lights traditionally create a cozy setting. On Sunday the shops in the city center additionally open for shopping.
